A failed mission

A failed mission it is. I tried a lot to get in touch with micheal but all my efforts went in vain. My other plans was to meet up with Tamilnadus circle secretary and speak with him about policy issues. I got an appointment with him and he asked me to meet him in person and so did I. The first day was a mere waste I would say. Despite the fact that I had already sent him my set of questions, he was not prepared and I dont blame him at all. On my first day, we had a casual talk and he asked me to meet him the following day. Even on the next day, he had unscheduled meetings to attend and the same scenario continued for 2 more days. Finaly, I met him and I seems to me that he has 75% of my doubts cleared. The funniest part is he had asked me to mete him at 1PM but due to traffic, I was at his office at 2PM. As soon as I started the interview, his family members entered his office (realized that he had plans to take his family out for lunch). However, he did not want the interview to end. We spoke for about an hour and his family waited without any kind of restlessness. Interestingly, neither of his folks signalled him to end it quickly. Hands shaken after an hour, a sip of water and I started off. On my way back, I was stopped by a traffic police..:)

I had taken an U-turn in a "no U-turn" end. In my defense, I could state that there were about 15 two wheelers ahead of me who took the same turn. Apparently, I was the unfortunate soul to be caught. I was asked for my bikes insurance and my drivers license, I gladly showed him all the paper works but at the end he started off with the no U-turn sign board. He gave me 2 choices.
1) Offer a bribe of 300Rs
2) Ill give you a ticket and youll have to pay Rs.800 at the court
I accepted the former choice and I bargained at Rs.100. After a quick 6 minutes conversation with him, I gave him Rs.100 and i got ready to leave. Before the momets heat taking off, I sputterd out "Sir, intha 100 rupaya neengale courte'la poi katurivingala" (sir, are u gonna pay the hundred bucks at the court for me). Thats it, the main problem began. He got so pissed off at me that he called for backup (he asked his fellow police men to join him). I still remember the moment, both of them were shouting at top of thier voices, me..was condesendingly looking at 2 corrupted police men. They started filing the charge sheet with all kinda crap. Their only intent being at getting back at me. The following were the false charges,
Helmet,,,not good condition
horn,,,not working
The heated conversation took off again and I was again offered 2 choices.
1) Offer a bribe of 500Rs
2) Ill give you a ticket and youll have to pay Rs.800 at the court
As I learned a lesson in a hardway, I politey bargained to Rs.300 and I was finally set free. Thereupon I decided to always drive a byk at the center of a road such that you can never get caught.

The war to get the right contacts

It gets realy frustrating when you know the destintaion but U dont know the route. When I started off with the project, I kept telling myself that it is top notch thing to do. However, the ground realities do not allow. To be honest with me atlest, I should say,"Dude, it was all your fault". It was me who put myself into jeopardy, was is not for my lazing around habit, I would have achieved a lot. The next big thing which strikes the hell out of me is when people turn arrogant and turn their back. I had this person, Mr.B(not worth mentioning) assuring me that hell surely help me in getting in touch with a senior official in Airtel. After a couple of days, I called him and since then I hear only the IVR telling me that he is not available at the moment. He should have atleast had the courtesy to attend my call and tell me that he cant help me out.

I spoke with a friend of mine, Mr.Ashok, an IAS aspirant and I asked him for help. He as usual, replied with a promising tone. I realy could not think of anything which would make me not count on him. He wrote his IAS examz a week earlier and hes right now preparing for his upcoming M.Tech exam..Phew..Good for him.

Iam still wondering whether it would be a good idea to call my friend Micheal. We are good friends but lately I had not called him atall. It would be realy wierd if I called him to just ask him for a favour. Oh..the favour, I did not mention what it is about. Micheal's friend is a relative to Dr.M. Karunanidhi, so, If i get in touch with Micheals friend, I could try to fix an appointment with Dayanidhi Maran sir. I dont know if it is possible but its worth giving it a shot. Fingers crossed.

Setting my foot on blogging

This being my first post, let me start on the relationship which myself and blogger has. I have know Mr.Blogger since 2005. Since then, I read other peoples blogs but never had the inspiration to start my own. Well, I do have few blogs which Iam using as a part time revenue generating tool (Adsense). I have wonderful memories with Mr.Blogger, there was once a time when I used sit all day long for months optimising the template code, uploading content, monitizing etc etc like a mad man. Right now, I consider that time to be well spent coz for the past few months( i wuld say years too), I dont wirte anything but revenue flows in. let me stop as of now with my adsense success story, ill write on it later.

Currently, Iam working on a project which will encompass the telecom policies followed in india. I had a telephonic conversation with the circles secretary and he was pleased to help me out. I exlpained to him the objective of my research and he listened to it without any interuption. He has also promised me that hell provide me with important documents. Hope i find all of 'em useful. I fixed an appoitment with him on the 16th of this month to conduct an interview. Lets see if everything turns up well. The fact that I have return to NY on the 8th of next month makes me anxious and restless because I have only a few days left and I have to complete all my interviews.

Iam sure this post will be bringing about obscure thoughts on what Iam upto. Ill eloborate in my later posts. Hang on!!
