A failed mission

A failed mission it is. I tried a lot to get in touch with micheal but all my efforts went in vain. My other plans was to meet up with Tamilnadus circle secretary and speak with him about policy issues. I got an appointment with him and he asked me to meet him in person and so did I. The first day was a mere waste I would say. Despite the fact that I had already sent him my set of questions, he was not prepared and I dont blame him at all. On my first day, we had a casual talk and he asked me to meet him the following day. Even on the next day, he had unscheduled meetings to attend and the same scenario continued for 2 more days. Finaly, I met him and I seems to me that he has 75% of my doubts cleared. The funniest part is he had asked me to mete him at 1PM but due to traffic, I was at his office at 2PM. As soon as I started the interview, his family members entered his office (realized that he had plans to take his family out for lunch). However, he did not want the interview to end. We spoke for about an hour and his family waited without any kind of restlessness. Interestingly, neither of his folks signalled him to end it quickly. Hands shaken after an hour, a sip of water and I started off. On my way back, I was stopped by a traffic police..:)

I had taken an U-turn in a "no U-turn" end. In my defense, I could state that there were about 15 two wheelers ahead of me who took the same turn. Apparently, I was the unfortunate soul to be caught. I was asked for my bikes insurance and my drivers license, I gladly showed him all the paper works but at the end he started off with the no U-turn sign board. He gave me 2 choices.
1) Offer a bribe of 300Rs
2) Ill give you a ticket and youll have to pay Rs.800 at the court
I accepted the former choice and I bargained at Rs.100. After a quick 6 minutes conversation with him, I gave him Rs.100 and i got ready to leave. Before the momets heat taking off, I sputterd out "Sir, intha 100 rupaya neengale courte'la poi katurivingala" (sir, are u gonna pay the hundred bucks at the court for me). Thats it, the main problem began. He got so pissed off at me that he called for backup (he asked his fellow police men to join him). I still remember the moment, both of them were shouting at top of thier voices, me..was condesendingly looking at 2 corrupted police men. They started filing the charge sheet with all kinda crap. Their only intent being at getting back at me. The following were the false charges,
Helmet,,,not good condition
horn,,,not working
The heated conversation took off again and I was again offered 2 choices.
1) Offer a bribe of 500Rs
2) Ill give you a ticket and youll have to pay Rs.800 at the court
As I learned a lesson in a hardway, I politey bargained to Rs.300 and I was finally set free. Thereupon I decided to always drive a byk at the center of a road such that you can never get caught.
